Vintage Smiths Crisps Musical Mug

Let's face it, as the owner of Curious British Telly, it was inevitable that British Crisps was going to end up dipping its toe into vintage memorabilia and nostalgia. And, so, it has started.

First up, I purchased the Smiths Twists Party Book, but, as you can can see here, that had as much to with crisps as wrought iron railings do. My second purchase, however, was much more enshrined in crisp territory. It was also terrifically exciting. It was, of course, the Smiths Crisps singing potatoes mug which, yes, played a musical tune.

Fairfields Farm Sea Salt & Aspall Cyder Vinegar

It's always nice to be surprised and, following an impromptu visit to a cafe in a soft play centre, I found myself enjoying some of the finest salt and vinegar crisps available. Regular readers of British Crisps will know that I recently had my mind blown by the Co-op's Sea Salt & Chardonnay Wine Vinegar, but what of the other end of the spectrum? Well, it turns out you don't need an overload of neurotransmitters firing all manner of signals through your central nervous system. Instead, you can kick back with a bag of Sea Salt & Aspall Cyder Vinegar crisps by Fairfields Farm.

Brown Bag Tiger Prawn

Without a shadow of a doubt, these Tiger Prawn (with a hint of chilli & lime) crisps by Brown Bag have instantly become my favourite prawn flavoured crisps. Traditionally, the choice of British Crisps, when it comes to prawn flavourings, has been Walkers Prawn Cocktail. An intense experience of acidic prawn, they're a crisp option which retains my interest, but perhaps I need a little more these days. And Brown Bag's Tiger Prawn crisps have plenty going on.

M&S Sticky Glazed Pork

Marks & Spencer have come up with a classic gem in the form of their Sticky Glazed Pork crisps, and it's one which makes up for the somewhat disappointing experience British Crisps had with their Pepperoni Pizza crisps. Yes, these Sticky Glazed Pork crisps have restored my faith in one of Britain's oldest and most trusted brands, so it's crucial you understand just how good they are.

Simply Roasted Mature Cheddar & Red Onion

British Crisps may be a website with a firm footing in indulgence, but it doesn't mean I'm some absolute slob with permanently greasy fingers and a gut waging an ever losing battle with gravity. In fact, it may shock you to learn I'm relatively healthy. The key word being relatively. Anyway, whilst it's unarguable that I love a high calorie packet of crisps to fuel my various activities, I'm not averse to a healthy option. And that's why British Crisps is going to take a look at Simply Roasted's Mature Cheddar & Red Onion.

M&S Pepperoni Pizza Ridge Cut Crisps

It should come as no surprise that I like British crisps as, uh, I set up British Crisps to discuss the world of British crisps. But it's not just crisps which I enjoy munching on, I also adore pizza. Therefore, I was cock-a-hoop to stumble across these M&S Pepperoni Pizza Ridge Cut Crisps. The combination of a crunchy fried potato snack alongside the deliciousness of a pizza dripping in calories is the kind of thing that dreams are made of. So, without hesitating, I paid the entrance fee and dove straight in.

Co-op Sea Salt & Chardonnay Wine Vinegar

With their Sea Salt & Chardonnay Wine Vinegar crisps, the Co-op have delivered a flavour with such a sharp, acidic tang, it'll strip your tongue bare and create a year zero moment for your taste buds. Unfortunately, being a supermarket own-brand packet of crisps, the wider world isn't as aware of the intense experience on offer from these slices of potato. But, thanks to the emergence of British Crisps (and a tip-off from one of our loyal Twitter followers), we can start striving to put these wrongs right.
